PRIVACY POLICY

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using our USCIS Case Tracker.

Last updated: March 3, 2026 · Effective: January 1, 2026
Important

This service is not affiliated with USCIS. We display case status information based on publicly available sources and/or authorized integrations. For official updates, always refer to USCIS directly.

1) Types of information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide case tracking, notifications, and support. We do not require Social Security numbers, passport numbers, or bank account numbers.

A. Information you provide

  • Account & contact: name, email address, phone number (optional).
  • USCIS Receipt Numbers (Personally Identifiable Information): We collect and store USCIS receipt numbers entered by users. Receipt numbers are considered personally identifiable information (PII) because they are uniquely associated with an individual's immigration case.
  • Support: messages you send us, including attachments if you choose to provide them.

B. Sensitive information (only if you submit it)

Because this is a USCIS case tracker, information you provide may be sensitive (e.g., immigration case status context). We recommend entering only what is needed to track your case.

C. Automatically collected data

  • Device & usage: browser type, device type, pages/actions, timestamps, referral URLs.
  • Network: IP address and approximate location (city/state level inferred from IP).
  • Cookies: needed for essential functionality, preferences, and analytics (if enabled).
We do not collect

Precise GPS location, biometric identifiers, genetic data, medical records, or financial account numbers.

2) How we use your information

Use of USCIS Receipt Numbers: Receipt numbers you provide are used solely to query and retrieve case status updates from the official USCIS Case Status API. We use the receipt number to submit authorized requests to the API in order to display current case status information within your account and to send notifications you have opted to receive. Receipt numbers are not used for marketing, profiling, or data resale purposes.

  • Provide USCIS case tracking and display case updates.
  • Send alerts (email/SMS/telegram or other channels you enable).
  • Maintain and secure accounts, prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • Improve the website/app performance and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3) De-identified, anonymized & pseudonymized data

We may create de-identified, anonymized, or pseudonymized data for analytics and performance improvement (for example, aggregated counts of feature usage). This data is designed so it cannot reasonably identify you. We do not include full USCIS receipt numbers in public or shared analytics.

4) Who we share data with (and how they use it)

We share only what is necessary to operate the service. We do not allow partners or vendors to use your information for their own advertising or unrelated purposes.

Categories of recipients

  • Hosting & infrastructure providers (to store and deliver the service securely).
  • Email/SMS/notification providers (to send alerts you request).
  • Analytics providers (to measure usage and improve reliability, if enabled).
  • Customer support tools (to manage support requests).
  • Legal/authorities (only if required by law, subpoena, or valid government request).
Third-party restrictions

Third parties are prohibited from using or disclosing your information (including de-identified/anonymized/pseudonymized data) for any reason without your active consent. Third parties are bound to the terms of this Privacy Policy and our contracts.

5) Data sales (we do not sell your data)

No data is sold, for profit or for any other monetary or non-monetary consideration. This includes personal data and de-identified data.

6) Your choices, and risks/limitations

  • Control what you add: you can add/remove receipt numbers at any time.
  • Notifications: you can enable/disable alerts and choose channels.
  • Cookies: you can block cookies in your browser, but some features may break.
  • Deletion: you can request permanent deletion at any time.

Limitations: If you disable certain data sharing (like analytics cookies), we may have reduced ability to troubleshoot issues or improve features.

7) Information about others

If you enter receipt numbers or case details for a spouse, child, or other person, you confirm you have authorization to do so. Sharing immigration-related information may impact others' privacy and confidentiality. For example, sharing family or history details (including genetic or family history information if you ever provide it) may reveal sensitive information about others.

8) Data breach notification

If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you without unreasonable delay and provide instructions you can follow, including steps to protect your account and where to get more information.

9) Data retention (including dormant accounts)

We retain personal data as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If your account is dormant, we may retain data for up to 24 months and then securely delete it, unless legal obligations require longer retention.

We may keep limited records longer where necessary for security, fraud prevention, compliance, or dispute resolution.

10) How to permanently delete your data

You can request permanent deletion by emailing info@itshudson.com. If the app provides an in-account delete option, you may also delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete.

Deletion is intended to be irreversible and includes account profile data, receipt numbers you stored, and associated tracking preferences, subject to limited retention required by law.

11) Account closure

Users can close their account at any time. If you cannot close the account in-app, contact us at info@itshudson.com.

12) Ownership changes (sale, merger, shutdown)

If our company is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of changes in ownership that affect their data.

If the new owner's policies do not align with this Privacy Policy, we will provide you the option to securely delete your data, download your data, or request secure disposal before the transfer becomes effective (where legally feasible).

13) Privacy policy updates & active consent

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will:

  • Notify you via email and/or in-app notice.
  • Provide a plain-language summary of what changed.
  • Request active consent (for example: "I Agree" confirmation) before changes take effect for you.

14) Contact

If you have questions, requests, or want to exercise your privacy choices, contact us at info@itshudson.com.
